3D printed tiles, glazed white
Brownstones is a wall-mounted installation that is a sophisticated dialogue between historic heritage and digital craftsmanship. Composed of an intricate grid of 3D-printed ceramic tiles, the piece draws formal inspiration from the rhythmic geometry of Boston’s iconic brownstones.
By translating the classic cornices and structural cadences of 19th-century facades into a tactile, modular relief, the work bridges the gap between traditional masonry and additive manufacturing. The stark white ceramic creates a crisp contrast against the deep teal backdrop, using light and shadow to emphasize the depth of each unit—a structural homage to Boston’s enduring architectural identity.
